Veteran wing Danny Green is nearing agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers for a rest of the season contract. Green is finalizing a buyout from the Houston Rockets to free him up to join Cleveland.
The Cavaliers had searched for a wing on the trade market. They Cavs will now add a veteran with championship experience in Green.
Green was traded to the Rockets from the Memphis Grizzlies at last week's trade deadline. That trade saw Luke Kennard head to the Grizzlies and Eric Gordon land with the LA Clippers.
Green also drew interest from the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns. The Suns are reportedly adding Terrence Ross in the coming days. Ross recently reached a buyout agreement with the Orlando Magic.
Terrence Ross is set to sign with the Phoenix Suns after his contract is bought out by the Orlando Magic, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Mat Ishbia and Monty Williams played a key role in convincing Ross, who was rumored to go to the Mavs, to instead join the Suns.

Reggie Jackson has agreed to a buyout with the Charlotte Hornets and plans to sign with the Denver Nuggets once he clears waivers.
Jackson was traded by the Los Angeles Clippers to the Hornets at the deadline.
The Nuggets have a need for depth at point guard following their trade of Bones Hyland to the Clippers.
Paul George and Marcus Morris are pushing for the Los Angeles Clippers to sign Russell Westbrook should he agree to a buyout with the Utah Jazz.
George brought up Westbrook when he was asked if the Clippers should add a point guard with their open roster spot in the buyout market.
"I mean if there's, you know, somebody out there -- Russell," George said after the Clippers lost 119-106 to the Milwaukee Bucks at home on Friday night. "If it makes sense and obviously it goes with our team, we're all for it. You know, we need a point guard. But you know, [at] the same [time], I think we're good as well. If nothing happened, we got enough in this locker room to be able to make it work.
"But it would definitely improve our team if we had that traditional point guard to kind of get us in things and make the game easy. So hopefully Russell sees this and we figure something out."
The Orlando Magic and wing Terrence Ross are working towards a buyout. The Dallas Mavericks are the frontrunners to sign Ross when he clears waivers from Orlando.
Ross has seen his playing time drastically reduced this season with the Magic. In 42 games, he's averaged 8.0 points on 43.1% shooting from the field, including 38.1% on three-pointers.
Ross will likely give back a portion of his $11.5 million salary for this season. If Ross signs with the Mavericks, the max they can offer him is a prorated veteran minimum contract.
